We couldn’t trace the origin of this expression. But, this is an interesting phrase because actually it has an action associated with it as well. The words don’t fully convey the thought process. While pronouncing this phrase there is an action of snapping the fingers along with the word ‘that’ thus essentially meaning that it is as easy as snapping one’s fingers. Most people learn to snap their fingers when they were kids, so this phrase is another way of saying that it is so easy that even a child could do it.
