Origin

The idiom “No feeling is final” was written by an Australian poet and novelist, Rainer Maria Rilke. The idiom was meant to encourage people to keep pushing no matter how hard it is since the situation will change for the better. The idiom appears in Rainer Maria Rilke’s book, “The Book of Hours,” where he wrote in a passage:

“Go to limits of your longing: let everything happen to you: beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final.”

Since the introduction of this idiom, several authors have used it in their work, like, “No Feeling Is Final: Healing Beyond Feelings” by Kirsten Backstrom, in Jojo Rabbit’s movie of 2019, “No Feeling Is Final” film by Ted Swartz, and many more.
